Description
It took some fancy maneuvering to get this chuckwagon in place for this photo on a private ranch near LaVeta, Colorado. Ranch hands hooked the wagon up to a pick up truck and carefully pulled it down a very rough, dirt road. Then they backed it into place making sure it didn’t slide down the embankment and into the swampy pond just behind the wagon.
Once the fire was going, the horses were calmed and the fog was placed in the background, Dad waited for the early morning light to hit the scene just right. What took a day to set up took minutes to shoot. Dad had another piece of Old West art.
