Description

The story behind the photo: When I was a kid, we traveled to the Hubbell Trading Post near Ganado, Arizona. I remember looking at the colorful, intricately woven rugs and detailed pottery in awe. It was nothing short of stunning and Hubbell abounds with history.

John Hubbell bought the trading post in 1878. He sold goods to the Navajo people, but he also offered them a chance to sell their Native American art in the store.

Not to long ago, Dad returned to the trading post and took this picture. You can still do your shopping at Hubbell Trading Post while you learn all about this unique relationship between the Hubbell family and the Navajo nation.
