Osprey in Full Flight

SKU: BPLPrint94 Category:

Most raptors really dislike owls, so much that they will chase owls away whenever they get the opportunity.  Dad set up an owl decoy and this osprey flew in close to teach the fake owl a thing or two.  The osprey then zeroed in on the quick, soft clicking of Dad’s camera.  The bird flew straight at Dad enabling him to get this amazing shot.

Neither Dad nor the osprey was hurt in this encounter.  But we were very impressed.  Ospreys possess astonishing eyesight and hearing.  Dad was in a huge field wearing a ghillie suit that covered every inch of him and had scrub brush providing more concealment.  The camera and tripod were also covered in camouflage.  Yet the osprey had no trouble picking out Dad or the noise from his camera.
