Description
Dad envisioned a classic Pony Express shot just as the sun set at Old Tucson Studios in Tucson, Arizona. However, he knew it would require a bit of fancy camera work. He would have a very short shooting window to get it right before the light changed behind the riders.
So Dad mounted two cameras with wide-angle lenses on a metal bar to double his odds of capturing the moment. Knowing the riders had to make the bag exchange on the first try, Dad turned to Red Wolverton for the best horsemen. Red’s son and son-in-law flawlessly executed the exchange, helping Dad bring another part of the Old West to life again.
